080908 to get into the pictures

Two weeks Two weeks Two weeks!

Well we are now down to 12 days until the wedding. My stress is gone for the moment and I’m pumped. I’m excited to spend the entire weekend with family and friends and to have a good time just enjoying the moment.

I hope everyone is ready to party and dance because in 12 days…….it all begins!

One Month to go?!?!?!

I can’t believe it. We are soon approaching only one month until the wedding. So far things are going smoothly. I am working on some final centerpiece and table favors. I am also working on a list of things for myself, along with Jon and & myself working on service information.

Exciting news for us today includes picking out our rings, and Jon now has our new bed at his place. The place we will be living is looking nice so far, and I’m very excited to move in. It’s crazy to think all this planning will soon be done with, and then it’s work and school for us.

The excitement of married life and all the new adventures I will have with Jon is sometimes more than I can handle, but soon I will be able to say I am now a MRS.

I start work this Monday which will keep me busy so I’ve been trying to get every little thing done that I can. Hopefully it all does get done!

New Job, New Place, New way to say “I have no more free time!”

So alot has taken place since I have last posted. Jon reminded me via Facebook yesterday I should update this thing, so I shall do so now.

Last week, May 16, I graduated from college. I can’t believe it is all said and done. It was just one more realization that things in life are moving forward, and they are just waiting for me to catch up with them.

Besides graduation, Jon and I signed a lease in April and we moved all of Jon’s stuff, along with a majority of the junk I don’t need or use, into a new place in North Mankato. It is a basement of a house, and it is very spacious. We have already began to unpack and get Jon settled in, but we are not going to be busy traveling for a majority of the upcoming month.

I also found out on graduation day that I had recieved a job. I am now employed full time at Bethany as an Admissions Counselor. I think it will be a great opportunity for me to share all the education and experiences I recieved from Bethany, along with meet new people and travel. I start work July 1.

Speaking of traveling, we have alot of that coming up soon. This weekend we are heading to Madison for Allison’s graduation, a wedding shower, and several weddings tasks. Jon is getting a “pre-wedding” haircut to see how it looks, and I am hopefully going to do a trial run with my hair. Besides that we are getting tuxes ordered and checking up on the food choices. The following weekend we are heading to my home for a wedding shower, my cousin’s graduation, and a bachelorette party. Yes I get two parties! Actually three because just the bridesmaids and I will be doing something as well. If that doesn’t sound stressfully busy enough, the following weekend I am traveling back to Waupaca for a wedding I am in. A good friend from gradeschool and highschool is getting married and I am a bridesmaid. I am looking forward to it. The weekend after that I am coming back to Mankato to go to Colorado for a wedding of Jon’s.

So, one might ask, “Tanya when are you getting wedding stuff done/figured out?”. Good question!!! Actually I am done working at my job this next week and will have three wonderful weeks to work on centerpieces, ceremony stuff and other things. I hope to get everything done so I can relax and work July and then get married in August!

The next huge thing on the list is to get the invitations out which happens next week! Yay!!!

4 Months to GO!

Well it’s down to the four month countdown. Bridesmaid dresses have been ordered and invites are all almost stuffed. Now I need to do the writing and get decorations figured out. That means another trip to Hobby Lobby which I adore!
Also I ordered Aeryn’s dress that and that should be coming in the mail either today or tomorrow.

Things have been going good as far as wedding planning goes. My grandma has been in the hospital all this week so that has been on my mind, along with my brother probably not being able to come up here because of the snow we are expecting once again. We will see.

Until now, it’s time for class.

Enjoying Easter, Eggs & Wedding Decorating

Well, as I sit in Z’s Bakery and Java Hut, I am thinking about all the things I want to accomplish this week. Yesterday we had several women in my family visit the house and assemble most of the wedding invites. I found out last week that the middle envelopes are on backorder, so that was a fun little addition to my plans. I will now have the pleasure of stuffing the envelopes myself. I think grandma and aunt Julie will help though. Also last night I finished my bridal bouquet. I now only have to make the toss bouquet, decorate my veil, and find shoes.

I have also placed ribbon on the vases for the centerpieces, so that’s exciting. It’s hard to believe that we are hitting the four month marker in a few weeks. Speaking of markers, Jon and I celebrated our 2 yr. anniversary on March 13 so that was fun. We went out to dinner at Chipotle - the best restaurant in the world….or at least in Mankato.

So, now as the snow falls outside -even though it is March - I will soon head home, take pictures of my dress that I brought home for the week!!!, and then continue to work on wedding stuff. Oh, I also have the flower girl basket to make. Aeryn was quite excited about that. She accidentally was calling it my ‘baby shower’ and that was making mom a little freaked out. I think we will wait a few years for that to take place. :) Jonathan and I have started looking at places to live, and I will soon be contacting a place I hope to be employed with by June.

Enjoy Easter with family and friends. I’ll try to write again soon.

Heartday over….the shopping begins!

So, now that the day of sweetness is over…I will go out to the stores like a mad woman, buying discounted candy and tons of pink items…I am also going to be buying all the paper to print the invitations. I did a demo sample of one and there was success. Therefore, I am now going to spend the next month, printing, cutting, and organizing. So exciting right? I am actually looking forward to it. I have alot of things to do, so I shall consult the list and start going at it.

Jon and I enjoyed Valentines day by him making me dinner, and he gave me a chain/necklace and 3 PINK roses :) and a card. The movie we watched was Good Luck Chuck. Overall, it was a relaxing fun evening.

6 months soon approaching

So as you may know, as of Saturday we will be counting down 6 months. Then the craziness begins! Not really. Jon and I went to a wedding show in January which was enjoyable. I didn’t really think of many ideas from that, but I did get some from the food tasting we went to. The last weekend in January we traveled back to Madison to try food for the dinner. I think we have narrowed it down to two, but we have some time to think about that.

I have figured out centerpiece ideas, along with finally getting Save the Dates out to family friends and our friends here in Mankato. Now I just have to put them in envelopes.

I am going to continue to trying to get things done ahead of time. My next huge project is printing invites, cutting them, and preparing to make them over Spring Break. I also am going to hit up Valentine’s day clearance to find some more pink stuff for the wedding.

7 months and one day to go.

I just thought I would write because besides a wedding update, I realized that in 7months and a day from today, so 7 months tomorrow Jon and I will be getting married. Crazy to think. It went from 15 months now down to 7. Crazy.

Anyways, as Jon and I traveled back to Mankato, listening to the football game on the radio, I put together the bridesmaid bouquets. It was a success, and all four are completed. Thanks to Hobby Lobby’s 50% off sale, I was able to save alot of money putting together flowers. It was a fun time, and made the 5 hour ride fly by.

Now, while school starts next week, I will be working on invites and my flowers.

Some changes have been made to wedding details, due to the fact we will now be sharing the church with another couple. Instead of getting married at 3, we moved the ceremony to 2. I don’t know what that really changes, except now we will eat sooner, and the dance can be longer. Fun Fun!

The year of weddings!

Well, it has finally come, 2008, the year of our wedding, and several others. Having some time over Christmas break, I have organized our wedding information, and attempted to block more hotel rooms in the Madison area. Also, we have started budgeting our wedding items, along with personal items so we can stay ahead in the new year. In 8 months and 8 days :) we will be married, and there is alot of planning to do until that point. The Save the Dates have been sent through Christmas cards to several guests, and now Jon and I just have to send ours out to some friends.

Another thing on my wishful thinking list over break is to either find the paper I want for invites and print the wording, or I would like to get either centerpieces figured out or the bouquets. The bridal and bridesmaid bouquets seem to be most promising.

The other day shopping with Jon and his mother I spotted a dress for that would possibly work for the other weddings of friends we have this summer, and when taking it for a price check it was $1.99…so well what does one do at a price that cheap? I bought it!

Other items purchased so far for the wedding include pink ribbon and Christmas lights. Jon and I went to the reception location the other day and found out more details about what we can do decoration wise…..and now with my new sewing machine I shall get busy!

As we approach our 2 year anniversary in March I hope to write that we are still ahead of schedule on the party planning!
